Since 1955托马斯·J. 龙药学院 has been training health care professionals who are problem-solvers, 创新者和领导者. The School was shaped into what it is today by the hard work, dedication 和 support of its charismatic faculty, 工作人员, 学生, 校友及朋友. 我们的历史, individualized faculty-led experiential learning 项目和 the combined support of a powerful alumni network continue to lead student success.

罗伯特·E总裁. Burns ’31, PhD set a precedent for innovation at Pacific. This spirit of risk-taking led him to establish the third pharmacy school in California. To make this daring dream into a reality required the leadership of a visionary dean who could see past the bare light bulbs 和 limited space of Weber Hall. President Burns recruited Ivan W. Rowl和, PhD to be the inaugural dean. In turn, Dean Rowl和 gathered a core group of founding faculty.

在早期, the founding faculty established fraternities 和 student chapters of professional organizations, setting a st和ard for scholarly achievement, health care outreach 和 networking that the School continues to this day.

The move to North Campus

By 1960, the School had reached peak enrollment. Dean Rowl和 began to 搜索 in earnest for the space 和 funds for a new building. 结果是, the Edward 和 Alice Long Memorial Hall was built, with its construction completed in 1969. 一年后, in 1970, the School initiated the first accelerated three-year trimester pharmacy program in the nation.

Spaces to learn 和 collaborate

In 2003, the Chan Family Health Sciences Learning Center 和 Clinics opened, providing much-needed classroom, lecture 和 clinical space. Renovations were completed in 2018, adding additional classrooms, offices 和 study spaces.

Training future pharmacists

In 2005, the pharmaceutical care lab was dedicated in honor of Professor Emeritus Donald Y. Barker, PhD who, during his tenure at Pacific, taught 和 mentored thous和s of 学生. 在这个实验室里, first-year 学生 are introduced to compounding 和 working in a clean room environment to protect pharmaceutical products from contaminants.
